Scheduling
Scheduling of dental treatment is done with the patient’s best interest in mind. For this reason, new patients, restorative treatment, extractions and treatment on young patients are generally scheduled during morning hours. Children under the age of 5 tend to be better rested and more cooperative in the morning hours. Although parents are welcome to accompany their child in the dental operatory for the first visit, some patients do better for dental treatment if the parents are not in the room during procedures. We will discuss our recommendation for your child prior to necessary treatment.
Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to fill out the necessary paperwork required.
Late Arrivals
We try our best to keep on schedule, when a patient arrives late it is impossible to stay on schedule. So, if you arrive more than 10 minutes past your scheduled appointment time, you may be rescheduled so that other patients are not inconvenienced.
Cancellation/Rebooking Policy
It is essential that you keep all appointments. We realize that unexpected things can happen, but we ask for your assistance in this matter. Therefore, we request at least 24 hours notice if cancelling or rescheduling any dental treatment appointment because another patient could be scheduled if there is sufficient time to notify them. We now reserve the right to charge for appointments broken without a 24 hour advance notice and in certain cases will be forced to dismiss the patient from our practice.
Payment Policy
Every effort is being taken to keep down the cost of good dental care. Reducing billing costs will help minimize necessary increases in fees. For this reason, All payments and co-payments are due at the time of service by whoever brings the child to the appointment. However, the amount that you are asked to pay at the time of service is only an Estimate of what the insurance company is not going to cover. You may be billed for the difference when our office receives the insurance reimbursement.
Insurance
As a courtesy to you, our office will complete, submit and follow-up on initial insurance claims for you. We are participating providers with Cigna, Guardian, Aetna and Delta Dental insurance companies. Complete and accurate information about your particular plan is essential for us to submit for you. Your insurance card and/or form issued by your employer should be brought to the first visit. Please remember any insurance policy is a contract between you and your insurance company. We are not a party to that contract. Remember, too, that no insurance company attempts to cover all dental costs, not even companies that have ‘full-pay” plans. It is your responsibility to pay any deductible, co-insurance or any balance not paid by your insurance. These balances are due and payable at the time of each treatment visit.
In the event that your insurance coverage changes to/or is a plan where we are not participating providers or if you do not have insurance coverage, we do require 100% of the bill to be paid at time of service BY WHOEVER BRINGS THE CHILD TO THE APPOINTMENT. Please be aware that some, and perhaps all, of the services provided may be non-covered services and not considered reasonable and customary under certain dental plans. In the event that we must turn your account over to our collection agency for payment, you will be responsible for the fees associated with this collection process.
Should your account become a collection problem with our office, all future appointments will need to be paid in full at the time services are rendered whether you have dental insurance coverage or not.
Usual and Customary Rates
Our practice is committed to providing the best treatment for our patients and we charge what is usual and customary for dental services in our area. You are responsible for payment regardless of any insurance company’s determination of usual and customary rates.
